Kerry Washington is honoring Jamie Foxx as he recovers from an unknown health crisis.
On Thursday, Washington posted a throwback photo of herself leaning her head on her Ray co-star on Instagram. Foxx, 55, portrayed the late legendary vocalist Ray Charles in the film, while Washington, 46, portrayed Charles’ second wife, Della Beatrice Howard Robinson.
“A @iamjamiefoxx appreciation post,” the former Scandal star captioned the photo. “Sending you all of my love and prayers, my film huzbin.”
Her message arrives a day after the Oscar-winning actor’s daughter, Corinne, informed admirers of his “medical complication.”

“We wanted to let you know that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” Corinne shared on behalf of the Foxx family in a statement.
He is already on the road to recovery, thanks to prompt action and excellent care. We recognize how adored he is and appreciate your prayers,” continued the statement. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Foxx’s representative did not respond promptly to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Foxx was most recently spotted on the set of the impending Netflix film Back In Action, in which Cameron Diaz also stars. The highly anticipated film will mark Diaz’s first appearance on the big screen since 2014’s remake of Annie, which also starred Foxx.
The Netflix film is currently revising its production schedule.
The set of Back in Action was “shut down” on Wednesday, a source told PEOPLE on Thursday, after the main actor’s health scare on Tuesday. According to the source, production resumed on Thursday with a stand-in for Foxx on site.
According to an email obtained by PEOPLE on Thursday, a casting director on Back in Action — which Foxx had been filming in Atlanta with Diaz and Glenn Close earlier this week — informed extras that a sequence scheduled to be shot on Sunday has been canceled due to “changes in production.”
This scene will not be rescheduled as a result of the modifications, but according to the memo, filming will continue as scheduled on Monday and Tuesday.
