Rosenstock surprise-released his fourth studio record’No Fantasy’ back May. The record planned to have a normal promotional cycle supporting it, however, the continuing pandemic put a stop to such plans.
“We had enormous fun strategies of publishing this album this summer, traveling the globe and seeing everybody ,” he explained.
“Frustratingly, such as everybody in a group right now… we don’t have any idea once we’re likely to have the ability to play shows to you .”
Because the launch of’No Fantasy ‘,” Rosenstock has shared only a couple of tunes to his Bandcamp. The Group of monitors, titled’2020 DUMP’, contained collaborations with Laura Stevenson and Skatune Network’s Jeremy Hunter, in Addition to a cover of Belle and Sebastian’s’Fox In The Snow’. The monitors had been shared as a non invasive discharge, together with Rosenstock not anticipating fans to invest any cash on these.
“Please don’t feel reluctant to spend money with this particular music. I don’t intend for it to be monetised,” he explained.
“Any cash that comes in via Bandcamp for such tunes will be given to charitable causes, however less cash will get removed if you merely do this right in your own — that I invite you to perform if you’re able to spend it. And when not, it is cool”
