iPhone repair charges
The Cupertino Tech Giant’s revolutionary iPhones aren’t cheap at all, and this is only half of the story. The cost of repairing the iPhone is not reasonable. And over the years, the repairing charges of the iPhone has come across some heated controversy. But, in 2019 the greatest rival of Apple brought Apple’s expensive repair charges to spotlight.
Eagle-Eyes was the first to spot the controversy related to repairing the iPhone, according to Samsung. For the first time, Samsung unveils the prices of its Galaxy devices such as S10e, S10 and S10 Plus. The cost of the OLED displays of S10e is $199, S10, and S10 Plus are $249 & $269, respectively.
At the same time, the charges of the display of Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are $279 & $329, respectively. On the other hand, the LCD screen powering iPhone XR will cost the same as the Galaxy S10e’s OLED display. And this is the only good piece of news for the iPhone owners.
Apple and its tale of expensive services
Samsung told the world about the absurdity of repair charges of an iPhone’s glass on the rear. Samsung will charge its users with $99 for the back glass which comes under “Other damage”. Apple is charging the users with $399 for iPhone XR, and $549 and $599 for iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Apple is yet to respond regarding the disparity.
Apple always finds a way of defending itself. The Cupertino tech giant provides the Apple users with AppleCare+ option. The plan costs around $249 as well as the “other damage.” By the looks of it, the insurance is around $99 more than its rival.
For quite some time now, Apple has a growing pressure for the high prices of its services. Currently, Apple has to submit to the Right to Repair legislation. Apple iPhones are excruciatingly expensive. Not just iPhones everything that Apple manufactures is expensive.
