Another COVID-19 outbreak declared at Participation House after caregiver tests positive for the virus

A caregiver in a Markham house for vulnerable adults has prompted public health officials to announce another COVID-19 outbreak in the center.

York Region Public Health affirms a health professional in Participation House tested positive for the virus.

Public health officials also have stated that just 1 instance is necessary to be able to declare an epidemic.

Six people died and dozens of residents tested positive for COVID-19 through a prior outbreak in the centre earlier this season.

Many cases were confirmed one of staff members in Participation House in the beginning of the pandemic.
