SIU exploring after guy falls to his departure from Newmarket


The state’s police watchdog is investigating after a man fell to his departure at Newmarket Sunday night.

At a press release, the Special Investigations Unit stated one individual called 911 about 7 pm to report that a guy which has been causing a disturbance in a No Frills shop in the region of Yonge Street and Davis Drive.

When authorities arrived, the guy was standing on a ledge, that was roughly nine metres in the floor from the parking lot space, ” the bureau said.

Authorities subsequently establish a perimeter. The SIU stated the guy fell to the floor a brief time afterwards. He had been taken to hospital, where he had been declared dead.

The bureau has delegated three researchers and two forensic investigators into the situation.

The SIU investigates reports between authorities where there’s been death, severe harm, or allegations of sexual attack.
