Scott Morrison is back on the offensive with his News Corp attack dogs

With the election looming in Queensland it is no surprise that the prime minister transferred out of consensus to censure.

Since Morrison pivots from his Team Australia second to politics as usual — where state Labor premiers are worried — the ancient media excitement for demanding public health steps appears to get swivelled together with him.

That is partially the forefront of media opposition into this thud-thud-thud of News Corp campaigning, partially a follow-the-leader reaction to Morrison, also partially a parochial defensiveness regarding the ACT, in which numerous opinion-makers reside.

News Corp’s tabloid sound machines are thundering out for months today at Victoria’s”Dictator Dan” Andrews along with Queensland’s Annastacia Palaszczuk over lockdowns and boundary closures. At Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph, Victoria was held as a”there but for the grace of God” morality narrative.
