Samsung to launch its Galaxy M series smartphones globally

Samsung has announced that it will soon launch its M series which will be a budget smartphones series. Samsung shared that the M series will take on increasing competition from Chinese rivals. The smartphones under M series will be designed in India, and will target the younger audience, said Samsung in one of the statements.

Samsung in a press note has confirmed that the company will announce its M series smartphones on January 28 and the smartphones will target the younger audience. Samsung also shared that it will market the budget smartphones series as an online exclusive. The smartphones under the M series will be made available on both Amazon and company’s online storefront, the press note added.

One of the officials from Samsung interacted with the leading news channels and informed that the company will first roll out the new budget smartphones series in India, after which the budget smartphones will be shipped globally.

Asim Warsi, Samsung’s Indian mobile head shared that Samsung will set the prices for Galaxy M10 and M20(two models from M series) somewhere between 10,000 rupees (~$140) to 20,000 rupees (~$280) and the WiFi Alliance has recently certified the said devices, he added. Overlooking the price range of the smartphones, both the models will be set against Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series, as well as the very popular Poco F1, Warsi said.

Warsi also shared that the South Korean company, unlike the J series, will work more on displays to keep them a bit large. Besides the screen, Samsung will also work on bigger batteries, more powerful processors and of course, multiple cameras, Warsi added.

There have been reports that Samsung is coming up with a new budget smartphones series in India to improve its growth in the country. Reports say that Samsung’s growth in India has slowed down while competitors like Xiaomi, Realme are making double-digit growth in the country.
