Prince of Persia movie
There are a numerous amount of movies that derive inspiration from games. Sadly, most of the films that are heavily inspired by the games are critically panned films, to date. Some of the notable mentions are Max Payne, Hitman, Assassin’s Creed, and significant other movies.
Nevertheless, the gaming counterpart of these films is incredibly hit among the critics and the audience. After witnessing continuous flops, the producers of Hollywood put an end to these making films that derive inspiration from games. On the other hand, just because a few movies didn’t make it become the blockbuster, the producers didn’t greenlight the more significant projects either.
One of the most notable examples of the tremendously flop feat is the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The original storyline and the game has a cult following, and it came from the minds of developers in Ubisoft. Prince of Persia came out with three chronological series and one spin-off.
These movies do not have proper plots
The Prince of Persia was a film which had direct inspiration from the game. However, the movie didn’t showcase the real motive of the game, i.e., to show something artistically distinctive. The plot of the film was not apt, and it also did disturb the core gamers around the world.
The game adaptations must understand that the audience wants to get their hands on the original plot. Some films did adopt the plot, and some movie didn’t.
The movie didn’t have “The Vizier”
The Prince of Persia movie didn’t have the mechanics of a proper adaptation. However, the main antagonist of the Prince of Persia series wasn’t found in the entire film, The Vizier.
It isn’t yet clear as to why did Disney not bring the main antagonist of the game to the movie. On the other hand, the film felt like a family story rather than the conquest of a single man.
