Singer Papon has called his Delhi concert this weekend as his residence nation”Assam is burningcrying and under curfew”.
The singer, whose real name is Angaraag Mahanta, is famous for hits like”Jiyein kyun” and also”Moh moh ke dhaage”. He had been scheduled to play Imperfecto Shor at Delhi on Friday.
“Dear Delhi,” I’m really sorry but I’ve decided to not perform the concert tomorrow ‘imperfectoshor’ as intended! My house condition Assam is burningoff, crying and under curfew! I will not have the ability to entertain one of how I need to in my current state of mind,” Papon tweeted Thursday.
“I understand that is unfair to you since you’d purchased tickets and planned long beforehand. I am certain that the organizers will look after this in someway and promised I will see you on a different day later on! I trust you will know,” he added.
The complete Northeast, particularly Assam, was observing violent protests since the Declaration (Amendment) Bill has been passed in Lok Sabha on Monday midnight. The problem further escalated following the invoice has been removed at Rajya Sabha on Wednesday afternoon. Mobile Internet providers in Assam are frozen for yet another 48 hours.
Papon stated it’s painful to watch Assam burningoff.
“Humanity is affected! Assam was bombarded with illegal immigration for years! We do not deserve that! The varied, complicated mix of this Assamese culture and individuals and their presence has to be known! We will need to be heard correctly,” he submitted on Twitter.
