One Piece Chapter 1044 Breakdown – Awakening
At the beginning of the chapter, we see Luffy talking but his full body isn’t shown. He wonders how he can get up even though he was defeated. He says that he suddenly feels so much fun. Black lightning starts coming out of Luffy and some of his allies start feeling his presence.
We turn back to Gorosei who discusses Luffy’s devil fruit. Gomu Gomu No Mi hasn’t awakened in 800 years. And since it’s Zoan type devil fruit, it has been running away from them since it has its spirit. That’s why they had to sacrifice one of their agents.
Orochi’s Demise
We go to Hiyori and Orochi and Orochi tells her that he did all of it because of Kaido and he appreciated Oden. Orochi tells her that even if she kills him, she and others don’t stand a chance against Kaido. Hiyori slowly removes her mask and shows her true identity.
We get a little emotional flashback of Hiyori with Oden. A little part of Kazenbou arrives and informs Orochi that he has failed. Orochi asks him to attack Hiyori but instead, he approaches him and burns him.
Gear 5th
Luffy says that he feels like he can do anything he wants. His supreme King haki knocks out various Beast Pirates. Luffy grabs Kaido in his dragon form and slams him on the ground. Kaido becomes dizzy and starts seeing stars around his head.
He then gets up and asks if Luffy is still alive and apologizes for his earlier win. Then he uses Bolo Breath but Luffy turns the ground into rubber and reflects it in his gear 5th form. Luffy remarks to end this battle soon.
One Piece Chapter 1045 – What to Expect
In One Piece chapter 1045, you can expect the fight between Kaido and Luffy to continue on the rooftop. But this time around, Luffy would probably be more dominant as he has just got awakening of his fruit. However, we can’t take Kaido lightly.
Furthermore, we could also discover more about Kaido and his past because that’s the kind of pattern Oda uses in his flashbacks. As Luffy and Kaido fight each other, we hope to learn more about the latter’s history and the former’s devil fruit.
