News Corp names Wesfarmers’ Robert Ure as director of strategy and M&A

News Corp Australia has declared Robert Ure because its new manager of plan and M&A.

Chief financial officer Michael Ford explained the appointment will reinforce the group’s tactical capability.

From the function, Ure will be accountable for strategic planning and merger and acquisition activity throughout social networking company. The job will work closely with the executive staff to direct, influence and provide key results for News’ expansion plan.

Formerly, Ford was covering M&A for News Corp after Richard Skimin’s movement to managing director of news.com.au along with e-commerce.


“Rob’s abilities and varied industry expertise will be invaluable to News since we advance our digital approach and identify development opportunities,” Ford explained.

“Rob will play a vital part in our development agenda, bringing along his profound plan and M&A encounter across big corporates and investment monies , in the usa and Asia.”

Ure was most recently general manager of business development in Wesfarmers, focusing on purchase action and tactical electronic endeavors. He’s a former investment banker in Macquarie Capital.

Ahead of his time in Wesfarmers, Ure was set general director M&A and corporate growth in Coca-Cola Amatil for four and a half an hour.
