New York City prepares to work with parks because temporary burial websites

The death toll in the COVID-19 coronavirus is increasing so quickly in New York City that officials hope to use city parks because”temporary interment” centers, as stated by the chairman of the town’s Council Committee on Health.

Mark D. Levine, a councilmember who represents the 7th District in Northern Manhattan, made the shocking statement on Twitter, stating,”Shortly we’ll begin’temporary interment.’ This probably will be achieved by employing a NYC playground to get burials (yes you read right). Trenches will be dug for 10 caskets at a lineup. It’ll be accomplished in a dignified, systematic –and temporary–way. But it’ll be rough for NYers to shoot.”

New York morgues, he states, are already complete. And if FEMA has shipped 85 refrigerated trucks NYC to function as temporary morgues, people too are filling fast.

“Nothing more in this catastrophe than rescuing the dwelling,” explained Levine. “However we must deal with the grisly truth that we want more funds to handle our deceased too. Or the hassle of the crisis is going to likely be compounded almost beyond understanding.”

Levine didn’t name any particular parks which could be utilized for burials. The town has approximately 28,000 acres of parkland. The biggest would be Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx, followed closely by Greenbelt on Staten Island. (Central Park, the town’s best known park, would be the fifth biggest park from the New York region.)
