NBCUniversal weighs job reductions , entertainment components – WSJ (NASDAQ:CMCSA)

NBCUniversal (NASDAQ:CMCSA) is analyzing operations across its entertainment and media properties within an cost-cutting campaign that could lead to significant job reductions, WSJ reports.

Though all branches are under inspection, some regions allegedly under a microscope in NBCUniversal could incorporate the theme parks branch and Universal Pictures – either of which are shut from the coronavirus – and the cable networks team, which comprises the Bravo, E! and USA stations.

In its Q1 results, Comcast’s overall earnings remained steady due to the expanding broadband industry, however, the company declared NBCUniversal’s earnings dropped 7 percent to $7.7B in comparison to the identical period this past year.
