Elsa Bloodstone, Marvel’s monster hunter will come out with guns blazing when she discovers some family secrets in her very own prose novel. After the brief stint that Elsa had in recent Deadpool books, Elsa is on her way to another adventure in another format, Elsa Bloodstone: Bequest promises.
Elsa Bloodstone first appeared in 2001’s Bloodstone and since then she has appeared in a parody series called Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. before finally appearing in the 2017 event Monsters Unleashed.
Elsa derives powers from the Bloodgem and uses her abilities to hunt monsters and vampires. Marvel announced that Elsa is going to be the lead character in the next Marvel Heroines prose novel line. So far, two novels have been released; the first one was released in last October.
Elsa Bloodstone, in her own prose novel?
In Cath Lauria’s upcoming novel, Elsa Bloodstone will be thrown right into a thrilling adventure. She will be introduced to a sister who has had her own Bloodgem shard stolen. In the novel, Elsa is going to get to know her family well. This is going to be the third novel in the Marvel Heroines line following Domino: Strays and Rogue: Untouched. Note that Domino’s novel is already out and Rogue’s novel will come in April. This novel will reveal lots of obscurity of Elsa Bloodstone who has not been used as a predominant character in most comics.
While Domino has a long comic history, Rogue has been a staple of the X-Men for years. Domino has appeared in Deadpool 2 while Rogue has appeared in the original X-Men trilogy and in X-Men: Days of Future Past. So far, Elsa Bloodstone has not appeared in any film or on television in any Marvel projects.
Recently, Elsa Bloodstone was secretly trying to take out Deadpool but instead turned out to be an ally in his rule of Monster Island – aka Staten Island. Eventually, Elsa assisted him in a fight against Kraven the Hunter although she intended to leave Deadpool to a monster that wanted her Bloodgem.
As a character, Elsa’s motives and desires are very complex. She always looks out for number one does not hesitate to shoot her way out of trouble. The novel’s announcement teases her situation as “nothing a good grenade can’t sort out.”
Elsa has fought alongside Monica Rambeau. Monica Rambeau recently showed up as a potential hero in the Disney+ original series WandaVision. Previously, Elsa has come up against mummies and even Dracula.
Marvel has taken a very interesting move by choosing her to lead a Marvel Heroines novel. Elsa Bloodstone: Bequest will release on 4th May 2021.
We’ll have to see where she shows up, but in the meantime, tell us, would you like to have her in the MCU? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
