New York City’s first African American American first lady, Joyce Burrows Dinkins, Expired on Sunday, October 11, reports her husband’s office.
She had been 90 years old.

“Joyce Burrows Dinkins, the youngest of two brothers of Daniel Burrows and Elaine Nelthrop Burrows, was created in 1930. She attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., in which she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at 1953.”
