“The duty is huge, it is huge. I believed it regular, I believed it everyday because. I truly have, it is — I have not taken it gently, and you understand, you wish to do the ideal thing by everybody involved since it’s about these two girls, and you also wish to provide Banaz the utmost esteem you understand, and by Caroline.”

She continued:”These are real people and it is always likely to be really unthinkable what Banaz and her family have been through, and Caroline committed her life for this situation.”

Where’s DCI Caroline Goode currently?

DCI Caroline Goode went to get the Queen’s Police Medal in 2012 because of her efforts linked to this Banaz Mahmod situation and increasing consciousness of honour-based violence.

She retired a couple of decades afterwards in 2014, after 33 years at the authorities. She had been an advisor on ITV’s Honour, and earlier this year she published the publication Honour: Achieving Justice to Banaz Mahmod.
