Disney finally chooses another actress/singer to portray the live-action version of Ariel in The Little Mermaid. By the looks of it, The Little Mermaid is a live-action remake of Disney’s classic animated movie of the same name.
The actress/singer took to it Twitter for announcing that she’ll grow a fishtail and reprise the role of Ariel. On Twitter, Halle Bailey wrote that her dream has come true and she’s incredibly excited about it. Bailey, 19-year-old YouTube singer and an actress who Disney confirms to star as the lead in The Little Mermaid remake.
Previously, Disney said that they would go forward with Zendaya as Ariel in the forthcoming Disney remake. Moreover, Zendaya also took it to Twitter to congratulate Bailey on her big break.
Halle’s popularity precedes her acting career
Before receiving the big break in Disney’s forthcoming The Little Mermaid remake, Bailey was already famous among her fans. Moreover, Bailey is incredibly popular on YouTube due to her groundbreaking music covers.
Bailey often collaborates with her elder sister Chloe who seem to be of her age, given that she’s older. Together Bailey and Chloe have created a name for themselves with their massive covers. On the other hand, Bailey began her career as an entertainer when she was very young. And over time, she became enormously successful with her singing and acting abilities.
Sources suggest that Rob Marshal will helm the role of the director of the movie. Nevertheless, the release date of the film has not yet been decided.

The movie is about a water princess, who is also a mermaid and she is fond of the life of the land. On the other hand, Ariel falls for a human prince and then she lands in serious trouble. Melissa McCarthy will helm the role of Ursula, Awkwafina and Jacob Trembly. On the other hand, Disney wants Harry Styles to helm the role of the human prince.
