Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc Breakdown – The Beginning

The entertainment district arc from the anime adapted the arc from the manga of the same name. It started with Tengen’s hunt for his wives who he has sent to Entertainment District for a certain mission. This fact didn’t bode well with Zenitsu as he considered Tengen to be immoral to have multiple wives.

This created a branch within them but Tengen being a strong one, didn’t pay much heed to it. He knew something is wrong within the district and gloomy clouds surround this area. Tengen dressed up Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke as women to find information about his missing wives.

They spread out and went into different brothels to search for their wives. However, they encountered some different stuff. Inosuke went into a laire of obis and stumbled across the dark truth of Entertainment District. With this, we got to know about the shady activities that went on in this region.

Daki was one of the primary antagonists from the Entertainment District Arc. When she was introduced first, she looked invincible and Tanjiro had no chance of victory against her. After all, she was one of the upper-ranked demons. However, Daki had a horrific past as a human which we learned later.

Tanjiro vs Daki was one of the biggest highlights of the arc and their fight went for many episodes. However, despite Tanjiro attempting multiple attacks, he was unable to defeat Daki. Her power to regenerate along with her obis made it quite difficult for Tanjiro to deal with her.

It was her sister Nezuko who arrived and once again saves her brother from the clutches of a demon. Tengen too ensured that Daki doesn’t terrorize the area. However, unbeknownst to him, there was another demon of the even higher caliber that was about to unleash his attacks.

The Demon Siblings

Despite chopping her head off, Daki still survived and her brother Gyutaro joined her in the fight against Demon Slayers. Gyutaro was of a completely different breed and he was much stronger than his sister. He almost killed Tengen which was a surprising factor for many.

The battle involved Tanjiro who gave everything he had and even risked his life to ensure that demons don’t succeed in their plans. Tengen remained grateful for his attempts to save his wife at the vital moment and ensure that the demon doesn’t kill anyone.

In the end, it became a battle of wits and endurance and it was Demon Slayer who drew the last straw. The demon siblings perished in the form of ashes and died miserably cursing each other of their inabilities. It was a sad ending to the duo of siblings who had lost everything in life and decided to opt for the path of demons.
