Blair Simon Kinghorn (born 18 January 1997) is a Scottish professional rugby union footballer who currently plays for Edinburgh Rugby in the United Rugby Championship and for the Scotland national side. Although he is primarily a fullback, he can also play wing and fly-half.
Kinghorn earned a two-year professional deal with Edinburgh after graduating from the Edinburgh Academy.
In the 2015-16 Pro12 season, he made his professional debut as a 70th-minute substitute for Edinburgh against Zebre. He was called on to take the kick for the game’s final play, a penalty attempt from inside Zebre’s half, but it fell inches short.
International
He was called up to the senior Scotland squad for the 2018 Six Nations Championship in January 2018.He went on to make his debut against England in a 25-13 victory at Murrayfield.
He then earned his first international start, on the wing, in Ireland’s 28-8 defeat. He scored Scotland’s lone try in the game. He scored tries against the USA and Argentina during his debut tour with Scotland, which took him to the Americas in the summer of 2018.
He scored three tries in Scotland’s first match of the 2019 season against Italy. Kinghorn has been included to the 31-man Rugby World Cup team.
