Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 20 Summary – Grisha’s Memories

We go through the memories of Grisha, the father of both Eren and Zeke where they try to see through the eyes of Grisha. Zeke wants Eren to realize that Grisha only wanted to use him as a tool and nothing else. At least, that’s what he wanted, however, things turn out differently.

With each memory, Zeke comes to realize that Grisha provided Eren the kind of freedom that he hadn’t received in his childhood from his father. He always had the determination to fight for one’s freedom just like his son.

Fall of Maria

As they go through various encounters, Grisha finally suspects the presence of both of his sons and acknowledges it. He says that he hasn’t forgotten about Zeke which even surprises him. In the next phase of memory, we jump to the day when Wall Maria fell.

Grisha is seen interacting with Freida Reiss on the very same day in the underground chapel. Despite Grisha’s attempts to ask for her help, she says that she won’t out any effort into saving Wall Maria. The Eldians will have to suffer through this tragedy and atone for their sins.
