Amy Adams and Glenn Close star in trailer for Ron Howard's Hillbilly Elegy

Netflix now surfaced an emotionally-charged preview for Ron Howard’s HILLBILLY ELEGY,  an impending play starring Amy Adams along with Glenn Close that seems as though it graduated summa cum laude in Tear-Jerker University.

According to J.D. Vance’s Number 1 New York Times Bestseller and led by Academy Award-winner Ron Howard, HILLBILLY ELEGY is a highly effective personal memoir that provides a window to a family’s individual journey of success and succeed. By following three brilliant generations by using their exclusive battles, J.D.’s family narrative explores the highs and lows that specify his family’s adventure.

Here is the official synopsis, a Netflix:

J.D. Vance (Gabriel Basso), also a former Marine from southern Ohio and present Yale Law student, is on the point of landing his dream job once a family crisis compels him to go back to the home he has tried to overlook. J.D. has to navigate the intricate character of his Appalachian household, such as his explosive relationship with his mom Bev (Amy Adams), who is struggling with dependency. Fueled with memories of his own grandma Mamaw (Glenn Close), the springy and whip-smart lady who raised himJ.D. comes to adopt his household’s indelible imprint in his personal journey.

Combining Adams and Close for your family drama include Gabriel Basso (SUPER 8, THE KINGS OF SUMMER), Haley Bennett (THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN), Freida Pinto (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, IMMORTALS), Bo Hopkins (MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, AMERICAN GRAFFITI), along with Owen Asztalos (PATERSON, Jessica Jones). Vanessa Taylor, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter to get SHAPE OF WATER, ” wrote the script. The movie also has music written by Hans Zimmer and David Fleming.

While I do not know that I am on the market for a soul-crushing play right now, I have to acknowledge that HILLBILLY ELEGY seems like it might be a really strong movie. Additionally, I adore when cosmetics artists go the excess mile to make actors seem nigh-unrecognizable. It’s true that it is still possible to watch Adams and Close should you look hard enough, but dag, yo.

HILLBILLY ELEGY is going to be published on Netflix and in select theatres on November 24.
